This event celebrates the new Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts through a right-brained carnival of music, design, and other art forms!
All events are FREE!
The event begins at 12 Noon; The St. Lawrence String Quartet and faculty from Architecture and Design will discuss parallels between the art disciplines and the art of collaboration, moderated by Dean Kwang-Wu Kim (Katzin Concert Hall).
Following the opening event at Noon, the musical midway will open, including: the Reactable, a one-of-a-kind digital musical toy (check it out at www.reactable.com Reactable ); and live music of all kinds in and around the School of Music’s buildings and grounds.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m., numerous performances will take place in the school’s concert halls. Featured music includes: Steven Bryant’s Ecstatic Waters for wind ensemble and electronica; a new composition for organ and electronica by Zeelab (Jacob and Ilona Adler); 2 new organ pieces by Josh Hill; a mash-up of joe’s last mix by tanner menard and joe’s last remix, the winner of the remix/composition contest by ASU student Robbie McCarthy; the North American premiere of Love in the Time of Connectivity by Aaron Gervais; and Scott Lindroth’s Spin Cycle.
